Peter SkerryProfessor, Department of Political Science, Boston College

Peter Skerry is Professor of Political Science at Boston College and Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. Formerly a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a Research Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, he is author of Mexican Americans: The Ambivalent Minority (Harvard University Press) and Counting on the Census: Race, Group Identity, and the Evasion of Politics (Brookings Institution Press). Co-convenor of the Brookings-Duke Immigration Policy Roundtable and co-director on the Dialogue on Islam in America at the American Enterprise Institute, he writes about race, ethnicity, and immigration for The Weekly Standard and National Affairs. He is currently completing a book about Muslims in the United States, From the Brotherhood to the Neighborhood: Muslims in American Society and Politics. He received his BA from Tufts University and his EdM, MA, and PhD from Harvard University.
