Arthur C. Brooks is President of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, a private, nonpartisan, not-for-profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics, economics, and social welfare. Up until January 2009, Dr. Brooks was the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is the author of Who Really Cares (Basic Books, 2006), which examines American charitable giving; Gross National Happiness: Why Happiness Matters for America--and How We Can Get More of It (Basic Books, 2008); and a textbook on social entrepreneurship.  He earned his Ph.D. and M.Phil. in policy analysis from Pardee RAND Graduate School.
