Richard Brookhiser is a senior editor of National Review and the author of eleven books, including George Washington on Leadership; and What Would the Founders Do? His newest book is James Madison. A columnist for American History, he wrote and hosted the PBS documentaries Rediscovering George Washington and Rediscovering Alexander Hamilton, and appears frequently on the History Channel and the Colbert Report. He was the historian curator of "Alexander Hamilton: The Man Who Made Modern America," a 2004 exhibition at the New York Historical Society. In 2008 he was awarded the National Humanities Medal. He lives in New York City.
