UFF Programming

Reading Groups

Reading groups, open to undergraduate and graduate students, meet bi-weekly for lunchtime sessions.

Private, Off-the-Record Teas

James Madison Program Undergraduate Fellows are provided with opportunities to meet with leading scholars, notable statesman, and religious leaders for off-the-record discussions over afternoon tea. Former tea guests have been former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, American Enterprise Institute President Arthur Brooks, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Steve Forbes '70, and New York Times Op-Ed Columnist Ross Douthat.

Supreme Court Trips

The Madison Program organizes trips to the U.S. Supreme Court each year through one of the nine justices. Undergraduate Fellows with a high level of engagement in and contribution to the forum will be given priority in selection for the trip, as seating is limited.

Praxis Labs

The James Madison Program Praxis Labs are an ongoing series of meetings and panel discussions that will help students learn to build and lead organizations that can make a real difference in our social and political life. These meetings and discussions are also designed to enable students to make valuable connections with notable leaders and inform attendees about future internship and employment opportunities in Washington, DC and elsewhere.

Dinners with Visiting Fellows

Undergraduate Fellows have the opportunity to dine at Prospect House with the program’s Visiting Fellows over the course of the academic year to discuss a paper that the scholar-in-residence has written. Students should also feel free to connect with the Visiting and Postdoctoral Fellows over a cup of coffee or dining hall meal to discuss topics of interest. For full bios and contact information, visit the Visiting and Postdoctoral Fellows page.
